Simone Biles

Simone Biles was an American gymnast born March 14, 1997 in the city of Columbus, Ohio. She is considered by many to be one of the greatest athletes. The 2016 Olympics were held in Rio de Janeiro and Biles became one of the U.S.'s only female gymnast to be awarded four gold medals. She also won the world title for all-around, three times in succession (2013-15). Biles, along with her sister Adria as well as her brother Ronald Biles were taken in as infants by their grandparents from Houston. Simone started to develop an interest in gymnastics when she was a six-year-old in a school field trip at Bannon Gymnastix. Aimee Borman was her coach over the next 11 years. Biles, who won gold and bronze medals at the women's Junior Olympic National Championships 2010 in vault and floor exercise before her debut in 2011 with the elite division of the competition. In just two short years, she was the most successful athlete in her discipline. The thing that set Biles apart was the consistency of her exuberant personality as well as the level of effort she put into her workout routines for every event - vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor workout.
