
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His most notable part was as Thomas Magnum, a private investigator in the television series Magnum, P.I. The actor was nominated five times for Emmy Awards as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (1980-1988), and received the Emmy Award in 1985. Since 2010 Selleck has co-starred in the role of New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan in the series Blue Bloods. Since 2005, he's played the role of Jesse Stone, a troubled police chief in small-town New York City. In addition, he has appeared in nine television movies based on Robert B. Parker novels. Selleck has also played the role as Peter Mitchell, a bachelor architect, in Three Men and a Baby (1987) as well as Three Men and a Little Lady (90). In addition to his role in Magnum, P.I., Selleck has appeared in over 50 films and television shows, which include the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Baseball, and Lassiter. He was the recurring television role of Monica Geller's romantic lovers Dr. Richard Burke and Lance White on Friends. Additionally he played A.J. Cooper in Las Vegas. He also played a character in the television western film The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran, a spokesman for the National Rifle Association (NRA) as well as an endorser in ads for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
